
Japan’s Fall 2009 Decoration: Dr. Gordon Berger, professor emeritus of
history at the University of Southern California, was awarded Japan’s medal for his
contribution to building the scholarly networks of Japanese studies in Southern
California.
Decoration conferment ceremony took place on Nov 19 at Official Residence of the
Consul General of Japan in Los Angeles.
Dr. Berger received The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon by
